Services
ABA Services
Assisting individuals with Life Skills and Behavior Intervention through Applied Behavior Analysis.
One-on-One Therapy
One-on-one therapy is individualized therapy for each person. We are there for that one person and we will help to teach new skills and work on reducing problem behaviors for that one person. This type of therapy is the most effective and successful for the growth of each child.
Verbal Behavior Training
Verbal behavior training or Functional Communication Training is used to help clients learn more conventional ways of communication that can be used with more people in more settings. If your child is not yet speaking, we will help you to figure out the best mode of communication and start teaching that communication style during therapy. We teach clients to speak verbally, via sign language or using an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) device.
Social Skills Training
Social skills training can be conducted in the clinic, home, school or community settings. It is one of the most important areas of focus for ABA therapy. Social skills training is individualized for each child and family. Some examples of social skills training may be eye contact, conversation skills, cooperation with peers, picking up on non-verbal cues, etc.
Daily Living Skills Training
Daily living skills training focuses on teaching skills that may need to be used every day by our kids. Some examples are toilet training, getting dressed independently, bathing, and brushing teeth to name a few. These skills are incorporated in therapy to ensure independence for our children as they keep growing.
Parent/Caregiver Training
Parent/caregiver training helps our families to better understand what is going on with their child and we work to teach parents/caregivers strategies to handle challenging behaviors. We include families in therapy as much as possible so we can all learn from each other. Before you know it, parents are using ABA strategies without even realizing it.
Telehealth Therapy
Telehealth therapy is conducted via video conferencing with kids and families. We offer one-on-one therapy for the child or parent training for the families. This is allowed for certain insurance companies.
Social Clubs and Community Outings
Community outings and social clubs focusing on improving social skills while navigating your community, and family friendly activities where you can meet others living on your island.
Social Skills Group
Social skills groups are offered once a week for the kids in our clinic to work on goals together. These groups are categorized by age and functioning. This is a great way for the children to learn to work together in a group setting on skills such as greetings, starting conversations, recognizing our feelings, coping skills and much more. For the little ones, we work on interactive play skills such as playing ball together, greetings, eye contact to name and many more.
Parent Group Training
Parent group training is a group of parents who get together to tackle common issues and for support. For example, if your child has difficulty with brushing their teeth at home, we will help the group to figure out what is the best strategy for them. This is also a great place for parents to speak with each other, so they know they are not alone in this process.
Supervision and Assessments
Supervision services for RBT, BCaBA and BCBA seeking individuals, including supervision hours, training, evaluations and skill assessments.
Intake and Assessment
Our evaluation begins with meeting the family to figure out what is needed. We will conduct an interview, also known as an intake, that will help us figure out needs and what behaviors need to be targeted. From there we will conduct an assessment depending on needs. We use a variety of assessments to come up with goals that fit each person.
Treatment Planning
Once the intake and assessment are completed, a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst will create an individualized treatment plan for the child and their family members. We cover 4 main categories in developing goals: compliance skills (following directions), social skills, communication skills and daily living skills. We also include goals for the reduction of problem behaviors. Treatment planning is very much done with the family in mind to make sure the goals are attainable for everyone.
